Crooked River Provincial Park Adventures

For those seeking some outdoor adventure the Crooked River Provincial Park can help there too. Some of the outdoor activities include fishing, canoeing, hiking, swimming, windsurfing, beachcombing and camping.

History In The Park

The park was once a travel route for our earliest Western Canada explorers like Alexander MacKenzie. The park itself was established in 1965 to protect the lakes and surrounding sub-boreal forests of white spruce, douglas fir and lodgepole pine trees.

Wildlife Viewing At Crooked River Park

As per reports the best spot for viewing wildlife is on the trail to Square Lake. The combination of forests and wetland make it ideal for beaver, birds and otters.

On the rare occasion one might see a black bear, coyote or fox. There are said to be lynx in the region as well, but they are very elusive. Time your visit in the winter and the park is a staging area for Trumpeter Swans.

Camping In Crooked River Provincial Park

There is a 65 unit campground. Reservations are accepted online at Discover Camping. The campground is treed and private. Services include power, sani dump, showers, and flush toilets.

Day Use Area in Crooked River Provincial Park
