Johnson Beach in Barrie, Ontario, Canada is one of the more private and less populated sandy beaches located on the shores of Kempenfelt Bay on Lake Simcoe.

Located at the end of the northern terminus of the Waterfront Trail, Johnson Beach is a small stretch of sandy beach hidden in a small bay away from traffic, people and gawkers.

The sandy beach park is located at the bottom of a long set of wooden boardwalk steps which can be found at the end of the Johnson Street.

Activities enjoyed on the beach include swimming, sun tanning and sightseeing. The views from the beach stretch out across Kempenfelt Bay with the city skyline as a backdrop. Often there are also views of marine activity.

The boardwalk steps drop down into a private cove backed by high cliffs. The Yacht Club is located next door on one side. It is an ideal destination for those seeking some semblance privacy.

Privacy has a cost. There are no amenities here except a washroom.

At the top of the stairs is a small parking area, however, parking is limited and you may have to find street parking.
