Waterfront Trail is an activity destination located in the community of Timmins, Ontario, Canada. The community of Timmins is located in the Wilderness Region in northeastern Ontario.

The Waterfront Trail is a one-way 2.5 kilometre path which follows the banks of the Mountjoy River. The trail follows along a, mostly, boardwalk and paved pathway.

The trail considered an easy-going recreation route and suitable for all ages and fitness levels. The route is very wheelchair and baby stroller friendly. Located on the path are some sightseeing benches.

The trail is popular for activities including walking, hiking, biking, birdwatching, picnicking and sightseeing. Some of the best views of the Mountjoy and Mattagami Rivers are enjoyed from this trail.

The northern trailhead entrance to the Waterfront Trail is located at the boat launch near Riverside Bridge where the Mountjoy and Mattagami Rivers meet. The Mattagami River waterfront is part of the Mountjoy Historical Conservation Area.

At the bridge there is a day use picnic area and picnic shelter. Not far from the bridge is the trailhead to the Bridge to Bridge Trail if you wish to continue your adventure.

The eastern trailhead entrance to the Waterfront Trail is located on Pine Street between Ogden and Moneta Avenues.

The Waterfront Trail follows the same route as an old forestry railway line. The railway at the time was used to connect the community with various outlying forestry mills.

The sitting benches along the Waterfront Trail is a great way to sightsee water activities including boating, water skiing and canoeing.

How To Get ToWaterfront Trail

Drive : Travel to the community of Timmins, Ontario. From downtown Timmins travel west on Algonquin Blvd. Take a left before crossing the bridge over the river. Parking is on your right near the boat launch.
