Pither's Point Park is a recreation and campground destination located on the sandy shores of Rainy Lake in the community of Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada.

Highlights of Pither's Point Park are the sandy beach, the "Big Chair", the campground, the "Hallett" logging boat and the many various water sport activities.

During the summer months the campground and the sandy beach are the most popular destinations.

Some of the activities enjoyed in the park include hiking, boating, fishing, swimming, water skiing, camping, sightseeing and sailing.

Also... the grounds of the park are often the site for some of the main events and festivals hosted by the community of Fort Frances.

Pither`s Point Park includes features like a government dock, washrooms, boat launch, day use picnic area, playground, change rooms and a campground with serviced and unserviced campsites.

Marina with boat launch and gas is located nearby.

Pither`s Point Park connects easily to the walking and biking pathway called the La Verendrye Parkway which then connects visitors to the waterfront of Fort Frances which is just a few blocks from some downtown shops and restaurants.

The park like setting of Seven Oaks, the "Hallett" logging boat and the the "Big Chair" are three of the most photographed places in the park - Seven Oaks is a large grass lawn area popular for wedding photos.

The "Hallett" logging boat - photographed for history - was retired in 1973. It was not until 1982 when the "Hallett" was resurrected and put on display as a monument in Pither`s Point Park.

The "Hallett" built in the 1940s measures 18.3 metres (60 ft.) long and weighs about 57 tons. During its life on the Rainy River the "Hallett" was the most powerful boat working the waterways until it was retired.

The "Hallett" logging boat`s primary function was to haul logs - up to 5000 cords of wood at a time - with each load measuring over 1 mile long.
