This trail is great for hiking or cycling and can be accessed all year. It's one of our favourites for a short bike ride with the option of riding the trail both ways or returning to Radium via Hwy 93/95. There’s a trail head with information kiosk at both ends, one just outside Radium, one a bit further South at Dry Gulch. When hiking we like to start at the Dry Gulch trail head and work our way back towards Radium.

A few side loops lead out to some spectacular look-offs over the Columbia River wetlands where you can often observe eagles as they scan the wetlands for prey. Deer & Bighorn Sheep are also common sights. Elevation gain/loss is minimal - a few short hills near Radium that are fun on a bike but hardly noticeable when walking. Cyclists take note: It can get a little dusty on the trail in the summer

How To Get ToOld Coach Trail

:
From Radium take Hwy 93/95 South and look for a gravel road on your right shortly after you leave town, turn onto the gravel road and drive a short distance further to the gate. This is the Radium trail head. For the Dry Gulch trail head keep driving South until you see a small trail sign on your right, turn right onto the gravel road just after the sign, then follow the road to your left to a parking area.
