Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park near North Bay, Ontario, Canada is an adventure and camping destination in upper Ontario, Canada. The park is 52 kilometres east of North Bay via Highway #17.

The Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park measures over 2,550 hectares and is located on a historic canoe route once used during the fur trade era. Historical Canadians like Frances Hopkins, Etienne Brule and Samual de Champlain once paddled and scouted these waterways.

The wilderness park attracts travelers and locals who enjoy adventures during the summer season like canoeing, fishing, camping, boating, hiking, swimming, sightseeing, birding, wildlife watching and photography.

Many who visit the park take advantage of the family oriented campground while enjoying days of relaxation or days of adrenaline kayaking the rapids on the Mattawa River or hiking the challenging Etienne Trails.

The Etienne Trails include the Ecology Loop (2.5 km), History Loop (9 km), Geology Loop (5 km), Nature Loop (8.5 km) and then there are the Kag Trail (2.5 km) and the Forestry Research Trail (2 km). Trails vary in difficulty with many including some steep elevation hiking.

The campgrounds (Babawasse and Jingwakoki) provide services including 216 campsites, a park store, flush toilets, showers, laundry, boat launch, day use picnic area, sani station, canoe rentals and access to the sandy beach on Moore Lake.

Attractions in the park include the Voyageur Museum, Canadian Ecological Centre and interpretive canoe and hiking guides and tours.

During, almost, any visit to the park there are wildlife viewing opportunities - both mammal and birds. Some of the wildlife sightings may include black bears, moose, raccoons, white-tailed deer, beaver, great blue herons, common loon and bald eagles.

Camping and all access to the park requires a park permit which are available from the ranger stations located in the park. To fish in the park requires a fishing license.
