Walk the promenade of Alert Bay and witness wildlife, landscapes and historical sites unlike that which you've ever seen before.  This wonderful town is located on Cormorant Island and plays a pivitol role in the development of the northern areas of Vancouver Island, with deep-rooted history revealed in sites and sounds that are quintissentially west coast.

Heading back into town we find the local marina, full of fishing and recreational boats, beckoning the visitor to climb on board and discover all the remote area has to offer.

Near the eastern end of Fir Street, we find the Namgis Burial Grounds.  These original grounds have been used for centuries to hold the remains of some of the original residents of Cormorant Island and Alert Bay.  It is said that the fallen totem poles are returning to the earth, completing the circle of life.
