Canada Parks include national, provincial, territorial, regional, municipal, community, recreation and wilderness parks. Every province and territory in Canada maintains a good selection of parks.
Most of the Canada parks operate seasonally with the peak months of operation occurring during the months of May to late September. Many of the larger Canada parks are created to protect the environment and wildlife in the region while promoting recreational activities.

The elongated park follows along the shores of the big lake. A serviced campground and an unsupervised beach are located on the north end of the park. In the south end of the park there is a network of inter-connecting backcountry recreation trails exploring a boreal forest.
LaVerendrye Parkway is a 1.5+ kilometre paved and cobblestone pathway which stretches west from, basically, Pither's Point Park to the junction of Front Street and Victoria Avenue located south of downtown.
The white sandy beach in the Fred Henne Day Use Area of the park is THE gathering spot during the summer months in Yellowknife. There is a playground, change rooms, washrooms, picnic tables, a group picnic shelter, sitting benches, boat launch, firewood, fresh water taps and Long Lake Beach.
The Waterfront Walkway is a very well maintained path providing access to many recreational opportunities and some impressive far reaching lake views. Located along the walkway are beautiful gardens, grass lawns, picnic areas, sightseeing platforms, sitting benches, washrooms.
The collection of parks and urban forests cover over 7400 hectares of land, measuring over 25 kilometres long. The valley of forest and parks is recognized as the largest continuous parkland in Canada.
Swy-A-Lana Lagoon & Maffeo-Sutton Park. Saltwater lagoon with grass lawns, walkway, picnic area, fishing pier and a bridge from the lagoon to the park area.
Nisga’a Memorial Lava Bed Park and Nisga’a Memorial Lava Bed Corridor and Nisga’a Memorial Lava Bed Protected Areas (a.k.a. Anhluut’ukwsim Laxmihl Angwinga’asanskwhl Nisga’a) lava eruption covered over 18,000 hectares and included a 10 kilometre lava flow.
