Rockin River Hair Salon, the name, was chosen directly because of Rockin River Music Festival. As a result, it was this festival which brought so much to Merritt. The music event brought many  famous and infamous artist to the Nicola Valley to perform and entertain on the Nicola Valley outdoor stage. The 100s of thousand of tourist that came and enriched our community to see all the big bands like, Rascal Flats, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Big and Rich, Johnny Reid, Sam Hunt, Toby Keith, Willie Nelson, just to name a few.
