Lundbom Lake is a beautiful, large remote recreation lake nestled in the back country desert hills located east of the community of Merritt, BC, Canada. The lake is a popular destination for many activities like fishing, hiking, canoeing and camping when exploring the countryside near Sugarloaf Mountain.
The wilderness campground on the shores of Lundbom Lake is one of the larger recreation campsites in the region. The campground is divided into two sections – totally 37 campsites. Some of the campsites hide under the cover of trees while others enjoy lakeside exposure.
The recreation wilderness campsite provides very little or no services. The campsite enjoys tenting, trailer and RV campsites. It is a paid campsite with park managers onsite. Each campsite includes a picnic table and a fire pit. And in various locations throughout the campground, hidden in the trees, there is some pit toilets.
The best boat access to Lundbom Lake is via the roof-top boat launch located on the east side of the lake. Most fisherman arrive at the boat launch with a canoe or an aluminum boat. There is allot of room to fish on this 47 hectare lake stocked with Rainbow Trout. Trolling the lake is the most used fishing technique, although some do fly fish from the shores in late June and in the fall. Please check first for the bait and fishing restrictions placed on this lake.
On the opposite side of the lake from the campground is a drive through day use area with a few picnic tables and many great views of the lake. From the campground is a hiking trail which connects to some of the larger regional hiking routes like the Hogsback, Tent Lake and Coco Bonk Trails.
