Santa Claus has a whole lot of houses to visit in Cold Lake and the Lakeland on Christmas Eve. To make sure he's prepared for his big trip, Santa likes to do a scouting mission a few weeks early, just to see which Cold Lake kids have been naughty and which have been nice, and to make sure everyone is in the Christmas Spirit. Each November, usually on the last Friday of the month, Jolly old Saint Nick arrives in Cold Lake for the Santa Claus Parade. Families line the streets as floats wind their way through the downtown.

The 2021 Santa Claus Parade is Friday, November 26

The best festivals are the cold ones.
Ice on Whyte returns January 27 to February 6, 2022 in Dr. Wilbert McIntyre Park

Ice on Whyte is a delightfully fun-filled winter experience. When you visit the event, you would find yourself surrounded by the best of winter. The ice carving competition is one of only three ice carving competitions in Canada. Be inspired and amazed as up to 10 teams of professional artists work to create jaw-dropping icy splendors.

The competition will be held in a tent to control the temperature and protect the sculptures from the outside environment. Be amazed by blocks of ice that have been transformed into masterpieces of art.

    Create Your Own Ice Carving

After viewing the ice sculptures, take a shot at creating your own small ice carving. We run both L’il & Big Chipper classes for people of all ages. In the evening the grounds are lit with colourful accent lights. Visit the ice bar tent for a locally crafted beverage and stroll around the park taking in this feast for your eyes.

Complete your Old Strathcona Experience and get great deals on dining, entertainment, and activities during Ice On Whyte. Offers will be available soon.

This winter event runs from January 27 to February 6, 2022.

Since 1905, the Santa Claus Parade has kicked off the Christmas season, first in Toronto, then for the whole country as it has grown in popularity and importance throughout the years. The Parade brings people together, regardless of their background, celebrating hope, family, and love. It’s part of the fabric of our community.

The Original Santa Claus Parade has been a central part of the holidays in Toronto for 117 years. The support of the City of Toronto, our volunteers, our sponsors, and the community has been unwavering throughout our history, and in particularly, over these past months.

The Santa Claus Parade will be a broadcast-only event in 2021. We know this disappoints many of you, but this decision was made after thoughtful discussion and careful consideration of many factors. It takes months to organize the volunteers, partners, and safety considerations for a Parade of our size, and our decision was made by the Parade several weeks ago using the best available data at the time.

Join us on CTV | CTV2 on December 4th at 7 PM for the 2021 Toronto Santa Claus Parade

    Is there an entry fee?
YES! This year we are charging either $5 a person or one non-perishable food donation per person (for the Parkland Food Bank)
    Is there an age restriction?
No! Anyone is able to go through the house, however, we do recommend if under 13 a parent/guardian goes through with the child.
Can I take photos or videos inside the Haunted House?
Yes! By all means, take photos or videos, we recommend not to because we think it takes away from your experience. But if you do, we strongly encourage you to share it on our page!
    Will the monsters touch me?
All monsters are instructed not to touch their guests, however sometimes things happen and the monsters get a little too eager to greet you, although they try their best.
How many people can go through together?
We allow a maximum of 5 guests to go through at a time, so everyone can have a great experience. Because of COVID we will not be mixing groups, so if you come as a group of two you go through as two, or if you come with a larger group exceeding 5, it will be split into groups.

    • I really enjoy craft fairs! I have wonderful memories from childhood of attending both as a vendor at patron with my mom.

Do you like to be SCARED? I mean REALLY SCARED??
Expect fears, tears, and blood smears! This is not your grandma's walk through a forest where someone jumps at you behind every corner predictably. This is heart-pounding, scream-inducing, can't get enough, blood on your stuff true Halloween terror!!!
Then FEAR 5 Winnipeg is the Halloween Haunt for YOU!

01: We have something for everyone this year! From the scariest of haunts to a more mild murderous experience.
02: This year's venue is full of tight quarters and interesting experiences. The layout allowed us to get extremely creative with each experience, and even each room. We're very excited.
03: Fear is like starring in your own horror film!
04: Our escape experiences test your intelligence and wit while creeping you right out of your mind.
05: It's Halloween and you deserve a better class of criminals to make you scream!
    06: 4 years, 45,000+ people ... Can't argue with numbers like that.
07: Because of Zombies ... that's why. And if you're thinking, it's all fake ... we deprive them of sleep and food and mess with them, so if they catch you, they will bite.
08: A little blood never hurt anybody.
09: No waiting in long lines with our reserved times.
10: The food in the lounge is delicious; brains to zombies kinda delicious.
11: Before and after your game we have a lounge with music, food, and drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic) for you to relax in. We have a very strict red line policy so don't drink too much before, there will be time to have a few drinks and bring your heart rate down after, as well. Please remember to drink responsibly.
12: We've made a lot of people cry, a few people pee ... and, well, let's just say it hasn't all been pretty.
13: This will be year 5 for a lot of attendees. How many times have you gone back to an event that didn't deliver the goods?
14: Our production is way creepier than in previous years.
15: You sign an injury and death waiver. Yes, really.
16: It's all fun and games until you enter a dark corridor have your mouth duct-taped, your vision is taken away, and you feel the breath of the undead.
17: Who doesn't want to see that one friend beg for their life?
18: Capture your experience at our magic mirror photo booth.
19: Halloween is a time for frights and fears, and the rest of the year you simply cannot experience what Fear has to offer.
20: The entire experience is indoors again

PLEASE BE ADVISED OF THE FOLLOWING:

This event requires some physicality. There are stairs, you will be on your knees, and once the panic button is hit in your brain you will run.

You must sign an injury and death waiver. Quite simply put when you're dealing with events like this there is a risk.

Times vary per game. This is not like your typical attraction where you spend an hour walking through someplace or getting the occasional scare. This is pure adrenaline and pressure. Trust us when we say, the time allocated will be more than enough for you.
EVERYONE (including us) signs a death and injury waiver. While we try to always put safety first, many people panic with fear and as a result, we've had some small injuries. Anyone associated with Fear is not responsible for injury, lost items, or death. The zombie chase is particularly physical with quite a bit of grabbing, pulling, prosthetic blood body parts, and hundreds of staff. If you don't want to assume the risk of "football" style physicality we can tone down the touching but you will have to let us know prior to entering. We can turn off strobe lights as well if need be.
This event is recommended 16+. That's not a rule, but it is a good guideline to go by. Those with small children will not be admitted without a refund. THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR SMALL CHILDREN.
During the event, there can be some profanity, degradation of character, and taunting. Don't take anything we say personally. This is a show, and you're playing a role.
Wear clothes you don't care about. You may get mud, dirt, and/or "blood" on you. Stains and rips happen all the time.
Try not to have too much in your pockets. If you fall and you have bulky keys in your pocket, that would hurt.
In line with the public health orders and to keep all those who work and attend Fear, we will be only open to those who are vaccinated for COVID-19 and have either the paper with the proof of dates the shots were given, the QR code, or the official card. This will be noted throughout our marketing and no refunds will be given if someone who does not wish to get vaccinated buys tickets and attempts to attend.
You are welcome to join us for delicious food and some liquid courage before and after your experiences.
Tickets available on-line - Buy early it is always a sell out
