Quebec Travel - Adventure Canada

Quebec is an eastern province located in-between Ontario and the Atlantic provinces. 95% of Quebec falls within the Canadian Shield. The province covers over 1,356,547 square kilometres and includes over 500,000 lakes and 4500 rivers. Quebec is home to more than 3% of the world’s fresh water reserves.

Quebec is Canada's French speaking province. The word “Kebec” is an Algonquin word meaning "Where the river narrows". The provincial capital is Quebec City. It is reminiscent of an old European city with historic architecture and cobblestone streets. Old Quebec City was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.

Quebec, Canada is home to many Canadian wonders including the Citadel of Quebec National Historic Site (home of the Royal 22nd Regiment and as the secondary residence of the Governor General of Canada.); 4.6 kilometres of fortified granite walls (only walled city north of Mexico); Chateau Frontenac (most photographed hotel in the world); Plains of Abraham (site of 1759 battle between French and English); Le Nordet Windmill Park (one of the largest green energy windmill farms in the world).

Other tourism highlights of Quebec, Canada, based on our experiences include the lighthouses (55+); Montmorency Falls (83 metre tall waterfall with suspension bridge); Centre d'Art - Sainte-Flavie (art revealed during low tides); Mont-Tremblant (park, village and ski hill); "Little White House" Saguenay Flood Museum (waterfall and house).
